What to do if you've put the wrong fuel in your car

Many if not all of us know that putting the misfuelling can be devastating. This is why no one is going to misfuel on purpose. In almost all cases it was because the driver simply got distracted or was too tired to double check if they were pumping the right fuel in their vehicle. However when you have finally realised that you have put the wrong fuel in your car what should you do next? Should you just drive off to your nearest mechanic and have them take a look at it? Well these are just some the questions we intend on answering.

If you have just finished pumping fuel in your car and have realised that your car has become a victim of misfuelling then just freeze! Yes you have to take a second to look about to get your bearings straight so that you don’t make the second biggest mistake which could cost you thousands of quid; which is unlocking your car.

In many cases just unlocking your car could cause your car to turn on and the fuel pump to start pumping petrol though its system causing widespread internal damage. The best thing for you to do is to call up your nearest mechanic and have them take a look at it. In most cases they will tow your car to their shop and drain the petrol from your tank. This shouldn’t cost you a lot plus you will save money and time.
